fantasy friday 12.23.2016 (holiday baking)
If I had more money, time, and all the butter in the land – here are the things I would be baking this week. I’ve also thrown in a cocktail of the weekend because fancy drinks make me feel fancy.
- Homemade marshmallows are my new holiday crush and if you make a batch of these chocolate covered coconut marshmallows please invite me over.
- Speaking of coconut – I’m making a coconut cake for Christmas Eve this year and scrolling through these Christmas Cakes for inspiration. Coincidentally these images are also setting me up for Christmas Eve tears when I fail to make something as dainty and whimsical.
- I ordered Christmas pajamas that I didn’t need earlier this week. But I can picture myself wearing my pajamas and eating these brown sugar walnut rugelah so it appears my purchase has been justified…
- Whoopie pies have a special place in my heart/childhood and I’m keen to try this gingerbread version.
- In my dreams, I am the type of person who wraps gifts perfectly and ties them with mistletoe and good time management. In reality, I often throw things into gift bags at the last minute and people forgive me because I bake them pecan buns. Or at least I plan to.
Cocktail of the weekend
- True story, 99% of christmas cocktails have cranberries in them. In an effort to branch out, here is a pomegranate rosemary spritzer. It could probably also be made with cranberries.
